The record is a double album with a total of seventeen songs, nine on "Abattoir Blues" and eight on "The Lyre of Orpheu." Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus may not be the best beginner's guide to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but for anyone who is a fan of the duration of his career, this album rewards the listener with a bit of the best of everything they have to offer. The first half of the double album "Abattoir Blues" features genres of blues, rock, gothic rock while second half "The Lyre of Orpheus" is completely different with a more gentle feel. (180 Gram, download)
