Description

Every Hour Is a Dollar Gone is the fourth album by American bluesman Patrick Sweany, the album was released in 2003. The album contains the swagger and swing from classic 70's rock and influenced the songs “After A While” and “Them Shoes”. Sweany has continues to show his musical influences throughout the record and dabbles in the ‘60s garage raunch ‘n’ roll instrumental onl “Burma Jones”. Sweany also touches on a crooning ragtime revival with “Two or Three” and guitar “Mom and Dad”. Longtime friend and collaborator Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) provides backing vocals and also produced the record. The handful of excellent soul tunes like “Million to Me” and the smouldering gospel-blues on “Hotel Women” with their echoes of Sam Cooke and Marv Johnson, that bind this record together and capture the artist's soulful drawl.
